Dr. Elizabeth Smoots

 

Elizabeth Smoots, MD

Medical Director

Elizabeth S. Smoots, MD, FAAFPs, is a board-certified family physician based in Seattle, Washington. A Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Dr. Smoots specializes in prevention and primary care medicine. She has over 20-years experience in the medical field in private practice, health maintenance organizations, and various group-practice clinics in the Seattle area.

Dr. Smoots has a longstanding personal interest in preventive medicine and patient education. She is especially interested in helping make preventive health information more accessible to the public. Her articles have appeared in numerous magazines, newspapers, newsletters and websites, including Harvard Health Letter, Family Safety & Health, Medscape, HealthGate and WebMD. She has long served as medical editor for Best of Health and Personal Best as well as medical reviewer for publications from Oakstone Wellness Publishing, American Family Physician, and HealthGate. Dr. Smoots is author of the feature-length syndicated column Practical Prevention and has penned several shorter health columns.

Dr. Smoots holds a M.D. from University of Arizona College of Medicine and a B.S. in Biology from Arizona State University. She completed her residency in family practice at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Smoots honed her writing skills at the Writer’s Nonfiction-Freelance Certificate Program at the University of Washington in Seattle. She has been honored with a recognition award for long-term service and contributions to the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Erik Myklestad has 20 years experience in software development and  management.  He leads the technology team handling customer support, web site and email services development, database management, email campaign analysis and other technology initiatives.
